Darren Clark

Darren Clark is a neurodiversity coach, youth mentor, qualified trainer and assessor, and former business owner with a strong passion for helping young people reconnect with confidence, education, employment, and community. With extensive experience working alongside disengaged and neurodivergent youth, Darren has developed a practical, strengths-based approach focused on understanding the individual rather than correcting behaviour.

Before moving into youth mentoring and education, Darren successfully operated his own business within the trades industry, giving him valuable real-world experience in leadership, communication, problem solving, and employment pathways. This background allows him to bring practical life experience into his coaching and connect with young people in a genuine and relatable way.

As the founder of NeuroWorks Youth Coaching and President of Teens Take Control, Darren combines mentoring, life skills education, executive functioning support, and practical learning experiences to create programs that are engaging, supportive, and outcome-focused. His work focuses on building resilience, independence, confidence, and future pathways for young people who may not thrive in traditional environments.

Darren believes that early intervention, consistency, and positive relationships can create meaningful long-term change, especially when young people feel understood, supported, and empowered to succeed in their own way.

My Story

My name is Darren Clark, and the story behind NeuroWorks Youth Coaching comes from both professional experience and personal understanding.

Growing up, I struggled with school disengagement, behaviour challenges, and feeling misunderstood within traditional education settings. Like many young people who learn differently, I often felt disconnected from the classroom environment and eventually did not complete school. At the time, it was easy to believe that I simply wasn’t suited to learning or success.

But over time, through hands-on work, mentorship, life experience, and determination, I discovered that my strengths were simply different — not less valuable. Entering the trades industry gave me purpose, structure, confidence, and practical skills. I later went on to become a business owner, mentor, and qualified trainer and assessor, working across multiple industries while supporting and teaching others along the way.

Throughout my career, I continued seeing young people facing the same struggles I once experienced — disengagement, low self-esteem, behavioural issues, anxiety around school, and feeling like they did not fit conventional systems. I recognised that many of these young people were intelligent, capable, and full of potential, but they needed support that focused on understanding rather than punishment or correction.

That understanding became the foundation for NeuroWorks Youth Coaching.

My approach is built around practical mentoring, strengths-based coaching, emotional regulation, executive functioning support, and helping young people reconnect with confidence, education, employment, and community. I believe lived experience matters, and I know firsthand how powerful it can be when a young person finally feels heard, understood, and supported.

Today, my goal is simple: to help young people realise that struggling in traditional environments does not define their future. With the right support, guidance, and opportunities, growth and success are possible for every young person — even if their path looks different from everyone else’s.
